Whether we’re talking about individuals or communities or nations, people want to grow and progress. This desire is wired into us. How does the Bible and its comprehensive worldview speak to this impulse…or does it? More specifically, how does this fit into the Christian gospel? What is the path to flourishing for individuals, communities, and even nations?
In Made to Flourish, Dwight Vogt responds to these questions from a biblical perspective with wisdom and experience.

The word footing is a construction term. A wise builder will invest significant effort to make a solid base for the building. This often means digging a deep trench and filling it with cement to provide a footing on which to build the foundation and structure. The footing is below ground and unseen yet the builder knows that without it, the house will fail. This illustration applies equally to our children.
We want our children to thrive in life, to grow strong and to flourish in every circumstance. For them to thrive in this way, we must impart to them a foundational understanding of truth and reality upon which viewpoints will be formed, decisions will be made, and character and behavior will flow. In short, we must impart to them a biblical worldview.
